Disney's ALIEN TV Series get major update after Strike Ends

When Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, it gained more than simply the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises. Among the many sci-fi properties now under their control are Alien and Predator, the latter of which has already been resurrected as the critically acclaimed Prey on Hulu.

In terms of Alien, we're getting a new film, Alien: Romulus, from Fede Alvarez, as well as a TV series from Fargo and Legion creator Noah Hawley. The action will take place on Earth seventy years before the events of Sir Ridley Scott's 1979 blockbuster, Alien. Despite leaving behind the familiar settings of a spaceship, the Xenomorphs will arrive, putting a new spin on what we've come to expect from the original IP.

Hawley recently spoke with The Wrap (via SFFGazette.com) and provided an update on the series' status. While the SAG-AFTRA strike ended earlier this week, it appears that the wait for small-screen Xenomorphs will be longer than many fans would want.

"We’re all just waiting for the strike, and it will end. The plan right now is to go back in January and be shooting in February, and looks like shoot until July or so, which puts the air date somewhere in the in the first half of '25," Hawley explains. "I was able to complete filming most of the first hour."
