LOKI Creator to Write Avengers Kang Dynasty & Avengers Secret Wars
We'd heard rumors, but Deadline has verified that Loki season 1 and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron will pen Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. He is still linked to Avengers: Secret Wars, which means that both films now have a same writer. Previously, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania's Jeff Loveness was supposed to write The Kang Dynasty, but there were rumors earlier this year that he'd been fired after the Ant-Man threequel disappointed both critically and commercially.
It makes sense for the same writer to be in control of both titles since it ensures a more coherent concept. The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars were supposed to be released in the same year, and while there is now a larger gap between them, it was always unusual to assume they'd have completely different creative teams. While not mentioned in this article, we recently learned that, with the resignation of Dustin Daniel Cretton, Marvel Studios is looking for a single director (or directing duo) to tackle the two-part climax to the Multiverse Saga.
