Daredevil BA Rebooted with Punisher & Loki Talent
A completely new cast and tone have taken over for Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and his team, who decided a few weeks ago to scrap the already partially shot Disney+ Daredevil series and fire the creative team in the process. The lead writer and showrunner for the series is Dario Scardapane, who previously worked on FX's The Bridge and Netflix's Punisher series. Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who directed episodes of Loki season two and Moon Knight, will be directing the remaining episodes. The news was leaked by the Hollywood Reporter.
Feige and his team reportedly went over the previously shot footage after the strikes forced a halt to production. They then made the decision that they preferred the original Netflix version of the show, which was more unadulterated and action-focused. And for that reason, this team has been assigned to this task.
However, a number of previously filmed scenes and episodes will still be used in order to preserve the work. They'll just add more narrative details to it. All of that will be handled by Scardapane, and Benson and Moorhead will oversee anything further. Although it was once expected to be an 18-episode epic, it is now uncertain (and probably unlikely) that it will run that long. Executive producers Chris Ord and Matt Corman, who oversaw the program prior to the walkout, will receive credit. Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdoch/Daredevil, the New York lawyer with supercharged senses but no sight, is still present, of course. As Kingpin, Vincent D'Onofrio also makes a comeback.
