MCU's New Black Panther Actor REVEALED

Avengers: Doomsday concept art leaked online today (you can find a full breakdown here), and while it's left us with plenty to discuss, the biggest reveal may be who plays Black Panther.

Marvel Studios' plans to recast T'Challa after Chadwick Boseman's 2020 death were revealed last month. Although reports vary, Toussaint/T'Challa II, the hero's son, will age up and succeed his father. Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday concept art clearly shows Damson Idris as Black Panther.

Although Marvel Studios rarely casts an actor without first talking to them, this doesn't mean he's been cast. As seen in leaked Fantastic Four: First Steps artwork, when they don't know who will play a character, they base the likeness on the comics. Idris addressed the rumors in a deleted X post on January 17. The actor said, "Yes sir, I declined Black Panther. I declined 007, a Daniel Day Lewis co-starring film, and an Eddie Murphy biopic."

Idris may have declined to star in Avengers: Doomsday since this artwork was created, but this makes him a likely frontrunner. The actor is famous for Snowfall, Black Mirror, and Farming. He and Brad Pitt will star in this summer's F1 film.
