The Punisher Disney+ Special In Development

A Marvel Special Presentation on Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle/Punisher is planned. Daredevil star Bernthal played Frank Castle/Punisher. The two-season Marvel Netflix show The Punisher was his next lead. Bernthal reprises Daredevil in Marvel Television's Born Again.


Frank will return to MCU after Daredevil: Born Again, as Marvel's Brad Winderbaum has announced a Marvel Special Presentation on The Punisher.

Winderbaum told ComicBook, “That's a character that's very personal to Jon. He immortalized that character. I think he's working on a Special Presentation with us about that character. That character is driven by pain and a need for vengeance and justice, but his philosophy on how he delivers it is always intriguing. I find Punisher's justification of violence most intriguing.


Marvel Studios has produced two MCU-themed television specials, Marvel Special Presentations. Werewolf by Night debuted in October 2022. About a month later, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special was released. Both are on Disney+.

Punisher-focused special plot details are unknown.

On March 4, 2025, Daredevil: Born Again premieres. Charlie Cox plays Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Vincent D'Onofrio plays Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Elden Henson plays Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, Wilson Bethel plays Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter/Bullseye, and Deborah Ann Woll plays Karen Page. Bernthal stars.
