Robert Pattinson might Become DCU's Dark Knight under James Gunn

The strikes last year led James Gunn and Peter Safran to halt work on multiple DCU films and TV programs. While Creature Commandos is nearing completion and Superman is in post-production for a summer 2025 release, DC Studios is still far from Marvel Studios' achievements. Batman is DC's biggest draw—even The Penguin is a ratings hit without him—but The Batman - Part II isn't coming until 2026. What about DC Studios' The Brave and the Bold?

According to Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider, Zaslav wants the DCU's Batman on screen soon to compete with Marvel Studios. The Batman star Robert Pattinson might play the DCU's Dark Knight after the sequel.


DC Studios has given suggestions on The Penguin, and Gunn and filmmaker Matt Reeves discussed making the Arkham Asylum-set TV series part of the DCU, which confused everyone when it was supposed to take place in The Batman's world.
