Sony's SPIDER-MAN Universe Loses Spider-Verse Creative Team
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller's collaboration with Sony Pictures Television has a major update, In 2019, the team inked a five-year, nine-figure TV agreement with the studio to supervise streaming Spider-Man projects. Despite Sony's poor Marvel films like Morbius and Madame Web, fans were excited about this cooperation.
The first TV show, Silk: Spider Society, was canceled this year after two years of development. The Nic Cage-led Spider-Noir is moving forward after Amazon "endured a heated fight over its budget."
"Sony is not expected to renew the deal, which did, however, deliver two seasons of another pricey show: the Apple TV+ anthology series The Afterparty."
