BLUE BEETLE TV series coming to the DCU

Deadline reports that Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios are developing a Blue Beetle animated series. Miguel Puga (The Casa Grandes) began development earlier this year.

He'll run the show while Cristian Martinez (Women of the Movement) writes. The 2023 film's director and screenplay, Angel Manuel Soto and Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, will executive produce with John Ricard. DC Studios' series is overseen by Blue Beetle executive producer Galen Vaisman.

According to trade sources, James Gunn has indicated that Xolo Maridueña's Jaime Reyes may return to the big screen in the forthcoming DCU sequel. After making $130.8 million worldwide on a $104 million–$125 million budget, the Blue Beetle movie may not return alone. The DCEU improved in a challenging year and has a 78% Rotten Tomatoes score.
