BLADE Director Left over being "Difficult To Work With" & More Details
Marvel Studios announced a Blade revival at a spectacular Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. To finish the panel, Mahershala Ali and Kevin Feige announced that Ali would portray Daywalker in the MCU, breaking the internet.
The epidemic and Eternals vocal cameo followed, but the reboot has hit several snags. Blade lost several creatives, including original director Bassam Tariq during "creative differences."
Stacy Osei-Kuffour, Beau DeMayo, Michael Starrbury, Nic Pizzolatto, and Michael Green all wrote the script, but Eric Pearson is writing the update.
The revival took another hit yesterday evening when Yann Demange stepped down as Blade director.
Jeff Sneider reports that Ali has grown unhappy with Demange, who is a talented director but "difficult to work with."
The source says he and Marvel Studios parted ways in March, and Kevin Feige has been looking for a writer and director ever since. They may find the same person.
