Chris Evans Signs On For MCU Return

Avengers: Endgame's fifth anniversary has been celebrated on social media in recent days. Captain America's fate is still unknown five years after the film.

Although the Statue of Liberty is dedicated to Steve Rogers, neither The Falcon nor The Winter Soldier answered his fate beyond being "gone."


Today, @MyTimeToShineH reported that Chris Evans will reprise the role in Avengers: Secret Wars. He may feature in the untitled Avengers 5, but we don't know.

The actor is expected to return to the MCU this summer as the Human Torch in Deadpool & Wolverine. Marvel Studios might keep that for an Avengers movie, but it would weaken the impact of his return as Captain America (and an R-Rated movie should let him have fun).

The MCU vets Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson may join him if this is true.

Evans responded to Captain America rumors in November by saying, "You know, I always see those reports too, and it’s news to me."

"I think every couple months, someone says that they’re getting Downey, and [Chris] Hemsworth, and Scarlett [Johansson], and everyone’s coming back!"
