Aaron Pierre cast as Green Lantern John Stewart

Variety reports that Aaron Pierre will join HBO's Green Lantern. Pierre will play John Stewart in “Lanterns.” Kyle Chandler was reportedly in talks to play Hal Jordan. Stephan James, Damson Idris, and others were considered for Stewart, sources say.

HBO is producing the show with Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios based on DC's “Green Lantern” comics. HBO ordered eight episodes in June. The Max original was moved to HBO as part of a new content strategy.
