Chris Evans Comments on MCU Return
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Evans has stated that he does not intend to pick up Captain America's shield anytime in the near future. The most recent issue of GQ features an in-depth profile of Evans as the magazine's cover story. During the course of the interview, he discusses how his star power stacks up against that of Steve Rogers and whether or not he would return to the superhero universe after handing off the role of Captain America to Anthony Mackie in his role as Sam Wilson, who was formerly the Falcon. Evans does not rule out the possibility that he will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point in the future; however, if that day does come, it will not be for quite some time. Evans does not intend to make a quick return to the Marvel Universe in order to join forces with the Avengers.
Evans states, "Just because it was such a wonderful experience, I'll never say never again about doing something like that." "On the other hand, I treat it with a great deal of care. Because of this, I have a lot of pride in myself. And as I've already mentioned, there are times when I find it hard to believe that it actually took place. And I wouldn't want the black eye if it seemed like a money grab, if it didn't live up to expectations, or if it simply gave the impression that it wasn't connected to the thing that came before it. Therefore, not any time soon."
