James Gunn Clarifies Zack Snyder's DC Return Comment

James Gunn, the co-CEO of DC Studios, responded to a Zack Snyder fan by elaborating on his previous statements regarding the director's possible future in the superhero genre.

Since Gunn took control of DC Studios, fans of the SnyderVerse have been more vocal than ever in their opposition to the director. It even led to a select group of people starting trends to get him fired twice, the first time not long after he was hired, and the second time after the announcement of the ten-project slate.

Fans of the SnyderVerse have been particularly active in a movement called "Sell the SnyderVerse to Netflix," with the goal of continuing the franchise on Max's competing streaming service, where the director is currently working on multiple projects.

"I have to say, this has got to be the wackiest hashtag ever since 1) Netflix hasn’t expressed any such interest (although we’ve discussed other stuff) & 2) Zack hasn’t expressed any interest & seems to be happy doing what he’s doing (and, yes, we too have talked)."

A user by the name of Shay Lonsdale, in response to a post made by Gunn on Threads, highlighted the DCU boss' previous words stating that Snyder "hasn't expressed any interest" while also including a clip from the "Full Circle" charity event.

In his response to the Q&A clip, the co-CEO of DC Studios provided additional context for his previous statements by pointing out that he "meant Zack hadn't expressed any interest to [him]" in returning to the superhero franchise:

"I would think it was obvious that I meant Zack hadn’t expressed any interest to ME in our discussions, so you can quit spamming this on every single post!"
