Channing Tatum Appearance as Gambit Confirmed by Film Cast & Crew Update
Channing Tatum was at one point the front-runner to play the X-Men character Gambit in his very own stand-alone film. The spin-off, along with a number of other projects, was canceled as a result of the Disney and Fox merger, which had originally been planned for release in 2016. However, the project encountered ongoing creative issues and delays, which ultimately sealed its doom.
Tatum has since expressed his regret at not being given the opportunity to play the role of the fan-favorite mutant, but it is now anticipated that he will be given a second chance in Deadpool 3 to portray the character.
The rumor that he would finally suit up as Gambit on screen started making the rounds earlier this summer. Later, it was said that we'd see Tatum in a costume that was faithful to the comic book version of the character. However, we now have new information that may point to additional evidence suggesting that this cameo will take place.
The information contained on the IMDb page for Deadpool 3 has recently been brought up to date, and Joel Adrien has been added as Tatum's stunt double. Because this is such a minor edit, it almost seems pointless for someone to do so as a way of trolling fans (especially considering the fact that Tatum's return has been rumored for months). However, we would be remiss if we didn't point out that anyone can make changes to the site, of course. We would be negligent.
