The Transformers: Rise of the Beasts film from Paramount, Skydance, and Hasbro has soared to an opening weekend gross of $110 million. When international earnings are added to those from the United States, the total for the Autobots and Maximals' opening weekend is 170.5 million dollars, surpassing industry forecasts. The reboot of the franchise that Steven Caple Jr. directed was ranked number one both globally and at the international box office for the period.
The debut is 36% higher than the previous title, Bumblebee, which opened during the Christmas corridor in 2018. China was not included in the calculation for this comparison. The best play for Rise of the Beasts was China, where it made $40 million, which was less than the $50 million launch that was hoped for, but was still the second best start for a Hollywood film this year.
