Why Spider-Man & Star Lord are Not in Avengers Doomsday Revealed
Marvel Studios had us watch a five-and-a-half-hour chair video yesterday. At least we know who will lead Avengers: Doomsday, but there were some major omissions.
In his latest newsletter, Jeff Sneider speculated about another wave of announcements. The script for Avengers: Doomsday isn't finalized because "some of the actors in Marvel's massive stable are still figuring out their summer shooting schedules." Chris Pratt will not reprise his role as the Legendary Star-Lord because he's filming season 2 of Prime Video's The Terminal List in the coming months.
"However, if the Russos can catch him at the tail end of shooting, he might be able to swing it - it just depends on a variety of factors," he says, "but if Marvel needs to proceed without him, it is more than prepared to do so."
Insiders say Tom Holland won't be in Avengers: Doomsday, which is the biggest surprise. With The Odyssey and Spider-Man 4, Spider-Man's absence is "more about the character’s schedule." Why? Spider-Man 4 supposedly takes place during the next Avengers film.
