The Flash Box Office Falls 50% for Opening Weekend

The Flash Box Office Falls 50% for Opening Weekend

The first round of box office projections have been released for Warner Bros.'s "The Flash," and after a year of difficulties for DC movies, Andy Muschietti's time-warping film may bring a box office rebound. However, the initial projections are not as large as some theater owners and box office observers had hoped they would be.

There are three weeks left until "The Flash" is released, and projections have it earning an opening of at least $75 million. This would be lower than the opening of Matt Reeves' "The Batman," which earned $134 million in March 2022, but it would be better than the opening of "Black Adam," which earned $67 million, and it would be significantly better than the opening of "Shazam! : Fury of the Gods," which earned $30.1 million. According to statements made to TheWrap by competing distributors, they anticipate that the film's projections will improve as the release date of June 16 draws closer.
