Marvel's Thunderbolts Shuts Down Production

Marvel's Thunderbolts Shuts Down Production

Due to the ongoing strike by the WGA, Disney and Marvel Studios have ceased production in Atlanta on Thunderbolts, one of the final films to be released in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 5 slate. This was confirmed by Deadline.

Now that the strike has ended, it is planned that filming will pick back up exactly where it left off. This marks the third Marvel Cinematic Universe production that has been halted due to the strike, joining the production of the Blade movie in 2024 and the Wonder Man series that will be coming to Disney+ at an undetermined date. Given that co-writer Eric Pearson has openly supported the strike on social media, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that the decision to halt shooting on Thunderbolts has been made.

In addition, the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series that is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) experienced a brief halt in production; however, shooting has since resumed in New York City. Agatha: Coven of Chaos, another Disney+ series that is rumored to debut around the same time as the Daredevil show, is still actively filming as of this writing.
