Kevin Feige Is Planning To Step Down As Marvel Studios Head
Kevin Feige has been called on to resign as Marvel Studios' president for years, even during the MCU's peak, but even longtime fans are losing faith in him.
The highest-grossing film producer of all time, Feige's projects have grossed over $31 billion worldwide. The last few Marvel Studios films, excluding Deadpool and Wolverine, have underperformed and received mostly negative reviews. Captain America: Brave New World dropped 68% in its second weekend with $28.3 million from 4,105 North American theaters. The movie is approaching $300 million worldwide on a reported $180M production budget, but this is before marketing costs, and some believe the actual budget is closer to $300M after extensive reshoots.
Whatever the truth, the film may struggle to make a profit by the end of its run, which is disappointing after Deadpool and Wolverine's huge success. Few would argue that the MCU is no longer the world-conquering franchise it once was, and many believe Feige should step down and let someone else take over.
