Wonder Woman Game Cancelled by WB

Wonder Woman Game Cancelled by WB

Reliable sources say Warner Bros. is canceling the Wonder Woman video game announced years ago. Recent years have been chaotic in the video game industry. Most gaming teams have suffered from rising costs, long development times, and more. Some teams survived, but others were devastated by layoffs, game cancellations, and more. The industry has lost top talent, and a fan-favorite studio has suffered more bad news.

Monolith Productions, which developed Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War, has shut down and canceled its Wonder Woman game, Bloomberg's Jason Schreier reported. Since Wonder Woman has never had a standalone AAA video game, the studio's 2021 announcement was highly anticipated. It would be one of the first non-Batman DC solo games. Wonder Woman was reportedly having a rough development, and WB may have decided to cancel the project.

Bloomberg noted that Wonder Woman may not be released for several years, making it a costly venture for the studio. After DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran announced new DC games with NetherRealm and Rocksteady, this news emerged. In a few years, DC will release new Gunn-set DC Universe games.
