Marvel Studios NOVA CANCELED along with Other Projects
Today, Deadline reported that Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. have been canceled. Marvel Television boss Brand Winderbaum warned that the studio is "developing more than we make".
The trade reported that none of these projects were approved and "may still come to fruition at some point." For now, "[Marvel Studios] has simply shifted its priorities." Marvel's new TV show development strategy has halted work on these shows. As with movies, a "Head Writer" wrote the series and a director (or directors) directed it.
That strategy and post-production reshoots failed. It cost too much and lowered quality. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was also overworked and announcing a slate of TV shows like features in advance put pressure on the studio.
They're trying a more traditional development process with more active projects than finished ones. Multiple seasons are prioritized over standalone shows teeing up movies, and a traditional green light structure has been implemented. - DEADLINE
