James Cameron Had Plans For Venom in his Spider-Man Film Series
In the late 1980s/early 1990s, James Cameron had ambitious plans for a live-action Spider-Man movie, with Leonardo DiCaprio as Peter Parker. However, Sam Raimi helmed 2002's Spider-Man, with Tobey Maguire as the web-slinger. Cameron had plans for villains like Electro and Sandman, and also had plans for Venom.
"I wanted to express the vertigo that the movie would induce, when going up high-rises with the fearless wall-crawler. I show him in an all-black suit here-anticipating that I would want the Venom alien symbiote version of Spider-Man to show up somewhere in the story, either in the first film or the sequel. I always think ahead,"
