X-MEN 97 Directors teases Live-Action MCU Reboot of Cartoon Characters
Marvel Studios plans a live-action X-Men debut of the Carton characters, which seems possible, but official updates are scarce. Last year, writers pitched project ideas. Despite some progress, creative teams and cast members are unlikely to be announced for a while.
Marvel's merry band of mutants fans love Disney+'s animated X-Men '97, so many think the studio should stick as close as possible to the revival series for the team's live-action MCU debut.
Kevin Feige and co. can take inspiration from '97 and hire two of the directors of the critically acclaimed revival series to bring on characters they know well.
In an interview with Screen Rant, Chase Conley (who directed episodes 2, 4, and 6) and Emi Yonemura (episodes 3, 5, 7, and 9) were asked if they wanted to be in the MCU's first live-action X-Men film.
"If that's a call that we get, at some point, I'm going to pick up the phone, for sure," said Conley. "I would never say no to that phone call because I love a good challenge, and I love trying new things," added Yonemura.
