Fast And Furious Director in Talks for Spider-Man 4

We're still waiting for Sony/Marvel to announce Spider-Man 4 (Tom Holland's fourth solo film as the wall-crawler), but trusted insider Jeff Sneider has given some long-awaited production details in his newsletter.

Sneider believes Zendaya's pledge to return as MJ in the next Spider-Man movie, which will likely begin filming in September or October, factored into Euphoria's third season's cancellation last night.


No Way Home filmmaker Jon Watts is not likely to return, and Sneider has heard that Justin Lin, who directed five Fast & Furious films and Star Trek Beyond, may still direct. However, other filmmakers, notably Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods), are likely to compete.

Tom Rothman and Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige are said to have disagreed on the narrative, with Feige wanting to tone back the Multiverse for a smaller story. Rothman wants to use No Way Home's success to bring back Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker.

We don't know if these concerns have been handled, but a movie shoot date is a promising indicator.
