Marvel Studios Fires X-Men 97 Creator
Marvel Animation's X-Men '97 creator and executive producer Beau DeMayo was sacked. The Hollywood Reporter said that Marvel "suddenly parted ways" with DeMayo earlier this month ahead of the March 20 Disney+ launch of X-Men: The Animated Series. After finishing the second season of X-Men '97 and planning a third, DeMayo was fired. He had previously written and produced Marvel's live-action Moon Knight series and the Mahershala Ali-led Blade reboot.
Marvel did not explain DeMayo's firing. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and The Witcher showrunner was reportedly planning press appearances to promote X-Men '97 and was expected to attend the show's March 13 premiere in Hollywood when cast and crew learned DeMayo was fired.
