James Gunn Reveals First Look at Superman Legacy Costume

Our new Man of Steel has debuted. Before his 2025 film debut in Superman: Legacy, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn revealed David Corenswet's Superman suit today. Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Universe remake begins with the new film, which he wrote and directed. Last summer, Pearl, Hollywood, and Twisters star Corenswet was cast as Superman, and fans are excited to see how he gets dressed. The lack of trunks on Corenswet's Superman suit has been a matter of discussion.

"Overjoyed to be announcing the start of principal photography on SUPERMAN today, February 29, which just so happens to be – coincidentally and unplanned – Superman's birthday," Gunn's post says. "I named the film Superman: Legacy after the first script draft. The title was SUPERMAN when I locked the final draft. Joining you July 2025. Happy Birthday Clark #LeapYear #UpUpandAway"
