Tom Welling wants to Return As Superman For Smallville Film

Smallville, a popular TV series that aired for 10 seasons, was a unique spin on the Superman mythos that both delighted and frustrated fans. It concluded in 2011, and the world has since been revisited as a comic book. Stars Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum are still rumored to be plotting an animated follow-up. However, DC Studios has its own plans for the Man of Tomorrow with Superman: Legacy, and only allowed Superman & Lois to move forward with its fourth and final season to appease fans. Welling recently discussed the possibility of a Smallville movie with Rosenbaum, but he confirmed that no one involved with Smallville has ever reached out to him about the project or any other new projects they've developed.

"I mean listen, I was thinking about this the other day right before we did our Talk Ville Podcast," Welling started. "We were on one of the most successful shows in the history of television, like Top 50. From that show, I've never gotten an incoming call from anyone involved in that show for further work."

"I'm not saying, like, I don't feel bad about that, I don't harp on anybody about that," he continued. "But you would think that when you're successful, [you'd continue to be successful] with successful people. But I think the time has changed."
