Marvel Tried To Poach DC's Jim Lee To reboot X-Men Comics & Films

Many people think that Jim Lee's time as an artist on the X-Men was one of the most important and well-known times in the history of the mutant team's comic book series. Starting with issue #248 in 1991, Lee and writer Chris Claremont took over Uncanny X-Men. They stayed on the show until issue #280.

Later, X-Men #1 became the best-selling comic book of all time. Lee left Marvel Comics to help start Image, though. Now that he's DC Comics' publisher and CCO, he's a big part of what we see from those figures on screen and in comics. Getting into his observations In an interview with Rob Liefeld, the co-creator of Deadpool, Marvel asked Lee to leave DC Comics last spring and wanted him to draw the next X-Men book. He would have also been asked to help shape the future of the brand, and we'd be surprised if he wasn't also being considered for a top job.

Many things may have led Lee to decide to stay with DC. Still, we can't help but think about how exciting it would have been for fans and the X-Men if the famous artist had come back to Marvel.
