Madame Web Star Sydney Sweeney Confirms Character & Teases Spin-Off

There is still a lot of secrecy surrounding Sony Pictures' Madame Web movie, and there has been no official announcement made about the Marvel Comics characters that will be introduced in the upcoming Spider-Man spin-off. Despite the fact that there are numerous set photos and purported plot leaks doing the rounds online, there is still a lot of secrecy surrounding the movie. However, we are aware that Dakota Johnson will be portraying a different iteration of the title character, and the part that co-star Sydney Sweeney will play has now been definitively established.

Even though earlier reports seemed to suggest the same thing, a recent article published in Vanity Fair has confirmed it. The former member of Euphoria will make her first appearance in the role of Julia Carpenter, also known as Spider-Woman.

“I was freaking out, of course,” Sweeney says. “I went straight to the comic store, and I bought every comic that mentioned my character. I think it’s different from what people expect a superhero movie to be. Quote that! That’s a quote, because the tabloids will pick up everything else we talk about.”
