DC's Nightwing Film is Dead
It has been reported by Umberto Gonzalez of The Wrap that Chris McKay's Nightwing movie, which was going to be a solo story based on Batman's former sidekick Dick Grayson, has been canceled.
In reference to the Nightwing project that McKay was working on, Gonzalez confirmed on X (which was formerly known as Twitter) that "that project is dead."
In 2017, Warner Bros. made the initial announcement that they were working on a superhero film based on Dick Grayson, and they attached Chris McKay, director of The Lego Batman Movie, to the project.
McKay has expressed interest in a standalone story that "doesn't necessarily connect to certain things," despite the fact that the project was initially conceived with the intention of serving as a spin-off of Ben Affleck's unproduced Batman movie.
