Jonathan Majors Facing Up to a Year in Prison if Guilty & More

Jonathan Majors Facing Up to a Year in Prison if Guilty & More

If Jonathan Majors is found guilty of a charge that was unveiled this morning in connection with his domestic violence case, he faces the possibility of serving up to a year in prison. On the other hand, the actor's attorney criticized the proceedings today, calling them a manifestation of "the racial bias that permeates the criminal justice system."

Six weeks have passed since the star of "Magazine Dreams" was taken into custody by the New York Police Department for alleged domestic violence, and a status hearing was held on Tuesday at the Manhattan criminal court building.

The actor from Creed III made a virtual appearance for the hearing, during which he witnessed the Manhattan District Attorney's office make public a superseding complaint that included a charge of assault in the third degree. The class A misdemeanor carries with it a maximum potential sentence of one year in jail time or three years of probation, whichever comes first.
