Marvel Studios Looking to Gender Swap The Thing in the MCU & More

If a recent rumor from a well-known scooper known as MyTimeToShineHello (MTTSH) is to be believed, Marvel Studios may be considering changing the gender of the character known as the Thing, also known as Ben Grimm, for the Fantastic Four reboot that will be released in 2025.

The scooper claims that Marvel Studios and director Matt Shakman are looking for a Jewish actor to play the role; however, what is unexpected is that they are allegedly looking for talent that is "both male and female" for the role. According to MTTSH, Shakman "insisted" on a Jewish actor for the role of the Thing, most likely so that the actor could accurately portray the comic roots of the character. Michael Chiklis and Jamie Bell, who both appeared in live-action versions of "The Thing" in the past, are not thought to be Jewish actors.
