James Gunn Ignored Marvel Studios Boss over Guardians 3
Chris Pratt, who plays Star-Lord in the film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and discussed the scene in which he dropped the "F-bomb" for the first time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The scene was previously shown in a clip from the film that was made available on the internet.
After offering their congratulations to Chris Pratt on receiving that honor, Chris Evans and Samuel L. Jackson made a joke about Nick Fury not being allowed to use the F-bomb.
Pratt admitted that others have also attempted to insert the f-word into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and that this wasn't the first time he's tried to insert the word into the Guardians movies:
Pratt: "I think everybody’s tried, you know? With a PG-13 movie, you typically get two SH-words, and usually don’t get - maybe you can get one F-word. So everyone’s always lobbying, you know? Throwing out an improv to get it in there."
Kimmel: "Is that right?"
Pratt: "Yeah, yeah, for years. It’s not the first one I’ve tried to get into the movie. But yeah, they edited it together and it was a funny beat, and so they kept it."
Kimmel: "Were you super excited when that happened?"
Pratt: "Yes! Yeah, I’m pretty excited about it."
