WB & DC Held DCEU Funeral over Red Carpet Premiere!

WB & DC Held DCEU Funeral over Red Carpet Premiere!

Warner Bros. said goodbye to the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) with a dull roar in the last movie in the series. Before James Gunn and Peter Safran, co-CEOs of DC Studios, start their new DC story world in 2024, James Wan's Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the last movie in the DCEU, has one more movie coming out.

Since the last DC movie's release date changed several times in the past few years, fans are worried that Warner Bros. will fail again with Aquaman 2, ending a year that has already been full of DC movies that didn't do well at the box office. On Monday, December 18, experts talked about and shared pictures from Warner Bros.'s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom's world premiere event. Compared to most premiere events, this one was pretty dull.

"And thus the DCEU ends, not with a bang but a whimper. No red carpet premiere, no afterparty, just a small (but neat) pre-reception, a 'fan screening,' and only Jason Momoa and James Wan at the Grove to close out a veritable era..." - The Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit
