Insomniac Games HACKED Wolverine & Spider-Man Game info Leaks & More
A hacker collective is attempting to bring Sony subsidiary company Insomniac back down to earth while it is celebrating the successful launch of Spider-Man 2.
The company was reportedly attacked by the famed ransomware organization Rhysida, which subsequently leaked a lot of screenshots from Insomniac's upcoming Wolverine game.They are seeking that Insomniac pay them 50 bitcoins, which is over $2 million, in exchange for the data. It has also been claimed that Rhysida obtained confidential information belonging to Insomniac personnel.
The website of Rhysida contains screenshots of birth certificates, passports, employee emails, and social security cards, as well as information regarding Spider-Man 2 voice actor Yuri Lowenthal. "We are aware of reports that Insomniac Games has been the victim of a cyber security attack," said a SIE official when asked for comment by Polygon. "We are currently looking into this situation." We have no reason to assume that any other SIE or Sony divisions were harmed."
