Taika Waititi Confirms He Won't Direct THOR 5 for Marvel
It's been rumored for some months now that Marvel Studios isn't working with director Taika Waititi on Thor 5. Despite earning a solid $760.9 million at the global box office last year, Thor: Love and Thunder was largely panned by critics and fans. The God of Thunder himself, Chris Hemsworth, has publicly criticized the Thor: Ragnarok sequel, calling it "too silly" and stating that "I cringe and laugh equally at it."
Nevertheless, he is eager to reprise his role as Thor and will do so without Waititi. In an interview with Business Insider regarding his latest film, Next Goal Wins, the director stated he will not be taking a backseat to any future Marvel Comics superhero picture.
"I know that I won’t be involved...I’m going to concentrate on these other films that I’ve signed on for."
