Nicolas Cage Not returning as Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Verse

Cage confirmed his absence from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in an interview with Screen Rant to promote The Old Way, and expressed his admiration for Spider-Man Noir. When asked if fans will ever see Spider-Man Noir again, Cage responded, "You'd have to inquire with Sony. I'm not sure what's going on there. Nobody has mentioned it to me. Inquire with them. I'm not sure. I honestly don't. I hope they do. I, too, am a fan of Spider-Man Noir. That's a fantastic character, in my opinion. Spider-Man is the most cool superhero. When you combine that with Cagney, Bogart, and Edward G. Robinson, it's a fantastic character." This most likely means Spider-Man Noir will not appear in Across the Spider-Verse, though Sony Pictures Animation could recast the role.
