SnyderVerse Justice League 2 Plans Scrapped by DC Studios
The appointment of James Gunn as one of DC Studios' CEOs has altered WB Discovery's plans for Justice League 2. Despite other franchises in the universe moving forward, the DC Universe (formerly known as the DCEU) hasn't had the Justice League together on the big screen since 2017. While Zack Snyder's Justice League cut was released on HBO Max, it is not considered canon to the larger DC Universe. Instead, the Snyder Cut was established retroactively to exist in its own continuity.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gunn's hiring has thrown a wrench in the studio's plans for Justice League 2. According to a new trade report, Warner Bros. Pictures' Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy wanted at least one more installment with the existing Justice League actors. That was before Gunn and Safran started working on their 10-year plan for the DCU, which is currently in flux. No one from the studio, including Gunn and Safran, has commented on the story.
