Daredevil Star Praises use of CGI in Marvel Studios & Daredevil Going Forward
Charlie Cox sat down for a panel at Middle East Film and Comic Con 2022 in Abu Dhabi to talk about what it was like to appear in Spider-Man No Way Home and the direction he wants to see Daredevil take after She-Hulk and in his upcoming Series Daredevil Born Again. In the interview, Cox was questioned about the scene from No Way Home where he instinctively caught a brick that was about to strike Peter Parker in the head out of the window. Cox said he "had to catch something" when asked if it was CGI or if he actually caught something. He then made a reference to his time on the Daredevil set, where they "didn't have any CGI:"
Yeah, I had to catch something… It was like a green CGI ball… I think maybe we did a couple [takes] without [it]… There was a question about… they weren’t 100% sure what they wanted it to be. It was going to be a brick, but it was going to— it might have been something else… so, we had to do it a few different ways. But on the show when we did stuff like that, we didn’t have any CGI, so it was always practical. So it was quite fun to be able to do it and not have to worry about actually doing it.”
