Ryan Coogler Almost Quit Filmmaking After Chadwick Boseman's Death
The death of Chadwick Boseman definitely hit hard with a lot of people, especially to those that was close to him. In a recent interview, Ryan Coogler said that he considered quitting filmmaking after his friend’s passing.
Here’s what he told Entertainment Weekly:
I was at a point when I was like, 'I'm walking away from this business.' I didn't know if I could make another movie period, [let alone] another Black Panther movie, because it hurt a lot. I was like, 'Man, how could I open myself up to feeling like this again?'
I was poring over a lot of our conversations that we had, towards what I realized was the end of his life. I decided that it made more sense to keep going.
It’s tough losing a loved one. I just know Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is going to something very special for sure.
