James Spader Returning as Ultron for Marvel’s Vision Series
Marvel Studios' unnamed Vision series, the sequel to WandaVision, will star the Emmy-winning actor as Ultron. He debuted in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015).
Paul Bettany returns as Vision, the android who loved Scarlett Witch and was destroyed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. He returned to WandaVision as a ghostly white robot and with magic and anguish.
Vision Quest, helmed by Terry Matalas, the acclaimed showrunner of Star Trek: Picard, follows white Vision's search for a new purpose in life. The show's mythology includes Ultron, a sentient creature created by Tony Stark, alias Iron Man, to defend humanity but turned against it. He then produced Vision, a sentient being, to help him kill humanity, but happily for Earthlings, Vision turns against his “father” to help the Avengers defeat him. Got everything? If not, revisit Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Ultron was presumably destroyed at the end of the movie, therefore his return and connection with Vision are unknown.
