Marvel Studios X-Men Secures Writer

As Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes scribe, Marvel Studios is accelerating its live-action X-Men film after the popularity of its animated series. Michael Lesslie is negotiating to write the film. Still in development, the film has no director or cast and no release date. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will produce.

Last October, Deadline reported that this project was one of the first large writing jobs after the Writers Strike. Lesslie was named a finalist in the InSneider Newsletter after Feige and his executives signaled no haste and met with many applicants. Late last week, Lesslie was chosen. The production will now seek a director to work with Feige and Leslie, so it will be some time before we see a movie in theaters.
