DC's Black Adam Not expected to make a Profit

Warner Brothers Discovery era of DC films is not off to a good start with Black Adam as "Black Adam," starring Dwayne Johnson as an antihero with god-like magical powers, has grossed $321 million worldwide since its October 21 debut.

With a $67 million opening weekend in the United States, it defied initial projections and poor critic reviews and the film being Banned in China the out look is bad.

According to IMDb Pro, "Black Adam" cost $195 million to produce, not including millions more in marketing costs. According to Bloomberg's Lucas Shaw in his latest Screentime newsletter, "Black Adam" will most likely need at least $600 million worldwide to break even, given that theaters typically take around half of a film's ticket sales (Warner Bros. did not respond to a request for comment on this estimate).

With Marvel's "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" opening this weekend, "Black Adam" is likely to fade quickly at the box office.
